I am a newbie. Might as well just get that out of the way off the bat...

I was reading through the Adwords terms and conditions today (no, that's not what I do for fun), and I noticed that Google supports Affiliate programs... so, naturally, it got me thinking a bit.

(I've got 20 or so sites on the go right now, all except 2 are under construction, so let's just say that there are times I wish I could speed the whole process up a notch or two.)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone found that they could make a decent ROI from this form of AM.

I'm assuming it has to be a fairly non-competitive keyword to perform with any sort of profit margin. Am I somewhat right, or am I completely off my rocker?

Any advice you could impart would be greatly appreciated. Especially if you've done this or do this and do well.

Thanks,

-Chris

You can make a lot, you can lose a lot. It's always been a bit challenging and now is even more so since Google will only show one ad per display URL per keyword. It can be the merchant or the affiliate ad, Google doesn't care.

At this point in time, building sites and using AdWords in combination with those sites is likely to yield the best results.
