Also overture has a keyword tool which gives you the amount of searches that was made for each term 2 months prior (google dosent give this info)

1) There is a completely free tool available called "Good Keywords". It shells the Overture results and some other engines and is a dream to use. Not nearly as cumbersome as going into Overture and "pretending" you're setting up a campaign.
2) Overture keywords work on a different model than AdWords. They strip articles, plurals, etc. Don't apply Overture suggestions literally into AdWords.
3) I've noticed that many of the AdWord Sandbox suggested keywords go right into "Hold" followed quickly by "Disabled". Just because they were searched on in Google doesn't mean they were successful!
4) Ask friends with varying levels of computer smarts how they would go about searching for your product or service
5) Don't take the AdWords descriptions about how each of the match types operate literally. There is much controversy as to how and what will match. This is due to Google experimentation, constantly tinkering with policies, bugs, features, luck and some theories that I have that are best left for a future thread. It will take some time to discover what really works well for you.
