Adwords conversion / pageviews / visit duration

My ad on adwords has about an overall CTR of 1.2% (search and content). Visits duration about 2 - 3 minutes (range: 1 second to 12 minutes), average page view is about 4 pages (range: 1 to 20), conversion is about 1%.

The ROI is quite disappointing. For the month of March, for every dollar we spent on adword, we get about 1.2 dollars back. Most of our sales still come from natural SERP and from people who type in our URL manually.

I am wondering what is the average visit duration, pageview, and conversion for your websites?

I am wondering also if it is worth it.

About 10 days ago I paused all our Adwords. Was intended to be for just one day while I made some changes.

Got sidetracked, and just got back to them today.

During that 10 days I can see no difference at all in sales or hits or referrals.

Raymond, a few comments:
1. Overall CTR is not representative (due to usually very low Content CTR), so look only for Search CTR.
2. Visit duration, avg. page views and even conversion depend on each site and also on how targeted your Kws and ads are.
I don't think any comparison with other sites is relevant.

Of course, regarding ROI you should do something, and there are a few options (including lowering your bid). Try each one for a few days and carefully track your ROI.
