Does anyone track the clicks from natural adsense search clicks and adsense contents to see which converts better?

Just a thought but I suspect adsense clicks convert better as the clicker is has been focused on to that subject/item.

I guess you mean Search vs. Content Network. For most of my ad groups search converts better but there are a few exceptions.

It's the same as in the physical world. What converts better, someone who comes into your store, or someone who's just walking down the street?

shorebreak - can you give us an idea of how different the conversion rates are?

On average AdSense converts at 10-20% the rate of AdWords. True search traffic is doubly qualified - people type in a search (first qualifier) and click on an ad (second qualifier). With AdSense, by contrast, people simply click on an ad next to something they're reading, but reading something is far less of a step in the traffic qualification process than going to a search engine and typing in a specific query.

On that note, does it make sense to have various campaigns using the same ads but each campaign displays the ad to its own area? For example, I have four campaigns, all containing the same ads:

"no search & yes content"
"no search & no content"
"yes search & no content"
"yes search & yes content"

I just checked how they're doing:

0.7% for the first
1.7% for the second
1.5% for the third
0.8% for the fourth

1.0% average total

Too granular?

Thx much!
