See line 2 for AdGroup#2? I specified I didn't want to pay more than .05 per click for these keywords, but as you see my "average CPC" turned out to be .40 per click and I was charged for it! Why?
I'm glad this wasn't a huge budget campaign and we are talking only a few dollars, or I would be very, very upset right now.
Any answers?
Oh, by the way... I usually post in the AdSense forum, but I am also an AdWords client. :-)
Any answers?
Well, in every similar case I've ever reviewed, it boils down to one of these two things:
* The advertiser is looking at a date range which includes a period of time in which the Max CPC was in fact higher, or
* While the 'default' Max CPC for the Ad Group is $0.05 (for example) there are also keywords in the Ad Group which have Max CPCs set for them individually, which are higher than the default.
If neither of these turn out to be the case, then I'd suggest contacting AdWords support, who'll take a look at the actual account and get to the bottom of things.
I can't recall a single case in my time with AdWords, though, in which we charged more per click than the advertiser had allowed for.
I'd be interested to find out how this resolves. ;)

You are probably in the second situation. Probably you put Max CPC for each keyword, instead of only one per AdGroup. If that is the situation, you probably entered 0.5 instead of 0.05 - for a keyword.
Be careful with these things! If you put 50 - then you could pay up to 50$ per click! So check twice!
