It seems as if ebay is agressively going after two of my important keywords. I have been in premium postions for a very long time, but ebay has knocked me down. I increased bids to get back on top yesterday and that worked. Today I am back down. Anyone have any experience with this with how high ebay will go and how they make their bidding decisions? thanks Tom

One thing I learned at Webmasterworld was that most of the Ebay ads are not placed by Ebay, but by "affiliates" who get some share of the sale. I lost respect for Ebay and Google when I learned that, and Google has since cleaned things up a lot: there are many fewer affiliate ads.
Still, it seems likely that this competitor is not actually Ebay but an affiliate. The bidding strategies of affiliates are likely to differ, so what was true in one market may not be true in another. Hard to predict.
