Hello! I have just been hired to my company to take over all Google AdWords in 5 countries. I'm learning as I go, but I am also beginning to learn from our current account, set up through an outside vendor. We're not sure we want them to know about me yet (I feel dirty just saying this) but I need to spy a little. Does anyone know if I can log into our account as the same time as them and go unnoticed? Can I print reports, etc?

I have about 5 more weeks to learn before I take over officially. Any advice?
Thanks in advance!
-Elizabeth

Ethics aside, the main footprint you will leave is running reports.

If you run reports, make sure they're not being emailed to the agency, save them as an excel file, and then delete them, it's unlikely that anyone will notice.

Two people can be logged into the same account at the same time. The only time this causes issues is if both people are trying to save keywords or new ads at the same time.

If one person is looking around/running reports, and the other is making changes - rarely do they trip over each other.

It depends on which login you are using. If one of you is using the account login and the other is using the MCC login, there won't be a problem. If you're both using the same login simultaneously, changes in dates and sorting will show up for the other user. It's real obvious that someone else is looking at the account.

And possibly posting on Webmaster World ;)

This is one of (?is?) the most active Adwords forum around, and chances are that some of the folks you're taking over from might drop in occassionally. So, if you want to cover your tracks a bit you should be careful about posting any info that might help identify your company. Keep things very, very general...you never know who's listening.

<edit>Almost forgot to welcome you to Wbmaster World, so "Welcome."</edit>

Naw, no one would trace a username such as "ElizabethReynolds" to the name of a real person. ;)

ElizabethReynolds, here's a link to a ton more info on MCC - from the AdWords FAQ:

My Client Center
[adwords.google.com...]

Also, you may be interested in the (free) resources available at the link below, on the time-honored principle that the more you know, well, the more you know!

AdWords Learning Center
[google.com...]

I wish you the best of success with AdWords, and think you're very much on the right track by learning as much as you can well before account management becomes your sole responsibility.

And of course, you've landed in a pretty good place here on WebmasterWorld, if your aim is to learn quickly.

Welcome!
