This is starting to become a problem because ultimately it reduces our ROI from AdWords, not to mention we are wasting too much time researching it, etc.
What if anything can be done about this? We spend over $1,000 a day with AdWords and emailed Google about this over a week ago with no response whatsoever.
I'm getting pretty pissed. Do we need to resort to this type of thing ourselves in order to remain competitive?
If you are spending that much money you should have a phone number to call?
Sure, but I've never had much luck with their phone support aside from very basic questions. They always say they will "look into it" and either call back or email us, and they rarely do. Their phone reps don't seem to know most of the intricacies of the Adwords system.
How do you know it is "impression spam"?
When you average 10-15% CTRs over hundreds of thousands of impressions, and then have a 0.2% CTR for those same terms during the past week or so, that is impression spam. Either that or a reporting error which they denied.
Also, If you are spending $1000 a day they would have to create zillions of bogus impressions to effect your CPC, no?
Not really ... these are not 5 cent keywords. If you have a 10% average CTR and then they generate a few 1000 bogus impressions, even that hurts your CPC. They are doing it systematically a little at a time, for many of our top keywords, over a long period of time (the past month) and it is starting to become a real problem.
