Hi All,
Adwords AD>>Click Through to my website>>Click Through to a Vendors website that I'm an affiliate for.
Using Adwords tracking code only gets me to knowing what keywords are clicked through to my site.(Which I know already from stats.) But to know what kws are converting do I need to have the code on the vendors site? I suspect yes. Is there any other way to track to conversion or actually... just wanting to know which keywords end up clicking on my link to the vendors site would be great.
p.s.
re. the thread about on trial/hold kws immediately after creating the ad...me too. But I also find that the ads are showing for those kws anyway even though I'm supposedly "slowed".
And also the matching is screwy. If I have kws red widget and "red widget" and [red widget] and do a search for funny red widget it doesn't show ad.
Adwords not too "scientific" but making money so not gonna worry about it now.

Yes, you would need to put the conversion tracking code on the vendor's site.

Some vendors work with an affiliate network that will give you transaction detail reports for your sales. I work with one that allows you to create a SID (session ID), and I create a unique SID for each of my visitors and use dynamic code to tack it onto the affilite product link when the visitor clicks out. If a sale is made, the SID field is returned in the sales transaction report, which allows me to match it up with my Adwords campaign.

I get very detailed click statistics about each sale, and can calculate ROI for each keyword, ad, landing page this way. It also works with PPC direct to merchant if you use a dynamic redirect in your ad.
