Hi,

I am new to adwords.

Reading about high costs for new campaigns is pretty disheartening.

I just started a campaign.

I dont show up for one of four keywords I am targetting.

One of the keywords is not showing in adwords.

Only one adword in total is showing at Google for the two word keyword, yet the estimator says expect to pay $0.29, but there is only one ad there at the moment and its not mine.

Any ideas what is happeneing?

Very Confused Glenn,

First, look through this thread:
Most common reasons ads aren't shown:

The estimator usually estimates for the number one position. If there is only one other ad, you can pay $0.05 and be in the number 2 position.

The reason you have to pay $0.29 out of the gate is based on the other ads' CTR & max CPC. To learn more about these details, please see this post:

Thanks for the info.

So if I am happy with no 2 I can just pay $0.05?

How do I set up the campaign to show that.

Apparently the reason it didnt show was that the ad description wasnt close enough to what the page was about that the ad was linking to.

I changed the ad and it showed immediately.

Regards,

Glenn
