On hold status looks this way in reality:
1. The On Hold words should have 0 impressions.
2. The reports show ONLY the words with more then 0 impressions.
3. If you have huge number of words, there is no easy way how to find all the words with "On Hold" status!
4. If you run the report, it fill find some words that have On Hold status and you will see some impressions there.
Do you understand this? No? Me either, but this is how things work.

What is the difference between a keyword that has been slowed and one that is in trial?
jim2003, this is sort of a language difficulty. Technically there isn't a keyword status of 'slowed'. Rather, it is an account that is slowed. And, when an account is slowed, then the delivery of all in-trial keywords is slowed.
So, to see a report of all keywords that are slowed, you'll actually want to run a report to see all 'in trial' keywords.
Typically, the key to avoid on-hold and in-trial keywords is to be very targeted every step of the way. Create targeted Ad Groups in which you create an ad about a particular thing, and then give it a keyword list of very specific keywords about that very same thing. I'd avoid very general keywords and single-word keywords. I'd also make good use of negative keywords to prevent your ads showing in places where they're not relevant.
I've posted the links below, from the AdWords FAQ, a few times in the past - as they are useful in understanding keyword status, and how keywords come to be placed in one status or another.

What causes brand new keywords with 0 impressions to start out "on hold"? and how can that be fixed?
If anybody knows better way, than vote against it (you can here: [webmasterworld.com...] ) tell me.
