Yesterday broad match single kw made a smashing debut -- good ctr good price.

By chance I noted the word was on trial for not performing well.

I got scared and changed it.

But this AM early I popped it back in. No warning on the word this time. No clicks today either.

This is mildly irritating because its relevance is unquestionable. Does identifying yourself as Affiliate in the ad create red flags? Is there a recourse to get the term humming again.

Hard to say what is going on here, given the necessary lack of detail. It could even have been something as simple as server delay. When you say 'no clicks today', it sort of implies that there were impressions, though.

What is happening now?

BTW, no, identifying yourself as Affiliate does not raise a flag.

And how to get the keyword humming again? Well that means first pinpointing the issue - which may mean contacting AdWords support who can actually see the account and give an informed opinion.

Hey, maybe with luck, it's humming right along again already?

On a related tangent: my thought is that if a keyword was 'in trial' before, it is likely to be 'in trial' again when you re-entered it. So, give the keyword it's best shot by having it bring up a really targeted, and well written, ad.

And remember, 'in trial' does not mean disabled. It just means that the system is not sure of the potential performance of the keyword, and is looking for proof either way.

So prove that it will perform, by giving it really targeted ads.
