Hi all

New here! - I hope someone might be able to help....

I have seen the following with a competitor and I would like to achieve the same. I'm sure I am missing something simple ,......

Suppose I have a main keyword(s): 'Health Protection Adviser'

If I type in that term (just an example), lets say it brings my site and another site to the top of the google listing AND serves ads from both of us ....

Now, lets suppose I then type in :

'Health Protection Adviser Heart'....

Now, lets suppose that the above terms also brings my site to the top of google listing (which is good) but not the other site (also good!). BUT, the other site serves a generic ad based on the ammeded key word (e.g with 'heart' added).

Further suppose that if you type in :

'Health Protection Adviser df8d7fd87fh' (i.e. a random non sence term at the end) - this STILL brings up the ad of the other site .....

I thought this was how broad mathing worked? However, I can not get the same thing to happen.?

So the question is, what settings do I use to serve up a general ad when 'Health Protection Adviser' PLUS any other term is searched for?

I hope that makes some kind of sence!

many thanks

Mark

To be the “default” on for example anything plus “Health Protection Adviser” is possible but how this is determined by Adwords goes into your CTR and CPC.

If you have an advertisement that is so well built and so targeted that you get a high CTR and at the same time you’re paying at least the average CPC you’ll see you’re the results you wanted.

You won’t get these results if your ad isn’t getting a high CTR and if your CPC for the term is below the average of the other advertiser under the same term.

Now there is an easier way to get these results, this way will not only benefit you on Adwords it will also help you understand your target audience better. This would be doing research into all the terms people would search for you that include “Health Protection Adviser”. There’s only a limit of 2000 terms per ad and I’m sure if you wanted to go over the 2000 Adwords can work with you. But these mean you can but 2000 terms to advertise under ex:

Health Protection Adviser
Health Protection Adviser free
Health Protection Adviser online
Health Protection Adviser net
Health Protection Adviser web

I’m sure you get the idea, this way you also can track how popular certain terms are and at the same time you’ll get somewhat of the result you wanted in being the “default” for anything plus “Health Protection Adviser”
