Some question were incredibly easy followed by vague questions.
Were a few question on account setup and features I’ve only used once in a few years -like subscribing to emails.
There were one or two questions i thought were very vague and I’m not sure if i got these right. I’m not keen on question that ask for the “best option” as what’s best can depend on what you are trying to achieve and what budget you’re trying to do it on(branding, sales, profits, research). Few occasions where i thought by best option is A, but thought Google would want to hear B.
Some questions even had typos, which made me wonder if the possible answers had typos when i couldn’t see an obvious answer. Last time i looked spending was not spelt ppending but guess my American English is not too good ;). Took the test on the 13th Nov so maybe this has been corrected.
Some question presume you are familiar with names of American confectionary manufactures/ brands, sweets(candy), geography and currency(eg. minimum cost per click in dollars). Fortunately they were easy questions. (Trivial but i like being picky)
It's been a week since I passed and it's not showing on my account either.
Congrats to all of you who have taken and passed the test!
Also my apology to Cline, and the several other folks who have passed the test, but not seen their account reflect this fact. Turnaround time is intended to be 1 to 3 days, but it turns out there is issue that needs to be resolved between the third party administering the test, and Google.
I've been doing a little pinging of the teams involved, and my best info at this moment is that the issue will be resolved soon, possibly even by the end of the day. But don't quote me on that last part, OK? ;)
Your patience is much appreciated, and thanks for being Google Advertising Professional pioneers! I think it is kind of cool to be one of the first to adopt something with real promise.

"GIF"
one of our most valued clients --> since 19**
The later would be great with the date just to weed out the newbie's
It's just that, anyone can study the guide, create the account and 90
days later have the most valued "GOOGLE" gif on their newbie site
for just under what we could spend in a couple of hours and the years
of google ad tweaking and relationship with our reps over the years.
Where's our special gif?

Basic Conversion Tracking - QUIZ
Question # 1
To install conversion tracking, you must have,
a) An active Adwords Ad
b) The ability to edit the HTML of your webpage
c) A budget high enough to cover the cost of conversion tracking
when you answer b) The ability to edit the HTML of your webpage
you receive the following message:
INCORRECT. Conversion tracking is a free tool. all you need to install conversion
tracking is an active AdWords ad, and the ability to edit the HTML of your webpage, Click anywhere to continue.
----------
hence, the answer is A) and B) and if you had
to choose only one you would have to choose b) because
you cant install the conversion tracking if you
do not have the ability to edit the html.
and you can install conversion tracking with or without
adwords, just a general conversion tracking code.
but if you select the choice it marks you incorrect in the training section.
a and b?
this one has a mistake,,

Benefits of AdWords: -> 2nd quiz question
The AdWords program offers which of the following three cost benefits? (Select3)
The ability to choose your own daily budget
A low mnthly spend commitment
The ability to set the maximum cost of each click
You pay only when users click on your ad
It says to only select 3 but if you only select 3 it comes up incorrect if you
select all 4 it comes up correct.
Also, thanks to all for the various feedback provided here, which I'll pass on this week as usual - except on Wednesday, rather than Thursday.
(And this may be a good time to mention that I won't be posting on Thursday or Friday, due to the Thanksgiving holiday here in the US.)
AWA
It's been 10 days and counting since I passed, and it has yet to show up on my account.
Hmmm. As soon as I posted, I knew I shouldn't have said 'everyone's 'passed' status is showing up in their account now!'
Bad move on my part.
So, cline, if you were to write in to adwords-support@google.com with ATTN: ADWORDSADVISOR in the subject line in big CAPITAL LETTERS, and include the following info, I'll do my best to get this sorted out.
Please include:
* login email address for the MCC account
* 'username' used to login for the test
Sorry about the delay, cline.

The fact that I can't use the old hierarchy of linking MCC accounts together is driving me crazy.
About to ask our rep to switch my account back to the old MCC as having an image just isn't as useful as day to day functionality.
Aaaach!
eWhisper, can you be more specific about what is driving you crazy? I'd appreciate it, and I'll see what I can do with the info.
Thanks!
AWA
I had the analysts accounts linked to my account (just like adding a client, but it was an MCC account) so that I could see any account from the master login, but they only have access to their accounts.
Now, when I try to add their accounts, I get the error '(email address) is a client manager', and can't add the MCC.
I reported this error as soon as the new MCC came out, but nothing been fixed yet, so now I have to log in and out all day to see other accounts.
To speed up the process of logging in to multiple accounts, you could set up serveral bookmarks with the following URL (*security*) or use one of those password reminder apps.
[adwords.google.com...]
There is no google AdWords api yet and
we have been thinking about how we are
going to write an automated program to
show only the numbers we want and
post it to our server so the client can
see it each day with our added service
charge to the total cost.
Your idea :
>> [adwords.google.com...]
just might do the trick to create a script to
at least get into the system and work it from there.
thanks.
we have a google adwords account but cant use our
id to get into the signup.
it keeps telling us to use a google adwords id
and not a adsence,,,
lol
it is a google adwords but its not working,,
waiting on their response.
its an old well used account dating back to when it
began, don't know if that has anything to do with it.
anyone else had this problem?
Scenario 1.
Some guy is too busy to take the exam, so a company sets up a service to guarantee a pass for only $50 more than the examination fee........ how do Google know it's the person taking the test who it says it is.
Scenario 2.
Each qualified persons credentials show against a company, indicating strength in depth. What's stopping a one man band taking the test 6 times in 6 pseudo-aliases and giving the perception they are some super agency. For the same cost as a Yahoo submission.....
Scenario 3.
We run a company where things like account set-up are either handled directly through our rep. or via a project manager responsible for getting new accounts up and running. The "qualified" people in the office never set up accounts so wouldn't know about things like account activation fees, yet still have to answer questions on the financial side of things to pass the test.
Scenario 4.
If your strategy is not to use broad match or content network you still have to answer questions on what the best practise is for those.
This is like the driving test. Learn to pass a test and then learn to drive. If you've only ever learnt your Adwords in the tutorial, or the US, the test will be a breeze, if you are a UK agency, best you study hard before trying to take the test.
we are an online marketing company , We built with sweat and blood for years to get an excellent standing in the community
and online, then a kid out of highschool could buy an excellent "template " site for under 100 bucks, take the 50 buck test
and presto has GOOGLE Professional recognition,, I feel sorry for the sucker who sees his impressive site and the
holy GOOGLE Professional certified and forks out 10's of thousands to the kid - who by the way learned to sell through
the google how to sell google course.
takes the guys 10k and only puts 1000 on google and keeps the rest,, because who would questions a google expert?
The client would get duped, average targeted hits,, some good traffic,, and not know the difference.
because they thought he was some kind of Google expert and has years of experience,,,
I agree with your "scenario 1" back to all the seo scam sites, of which 1000's are out there,, you can bet your
bottom dollar they will all carry the prestigious GOOGLE PROFESSIONAL certification on their site soon.
I hope it does not get to this but i can see by the bogs and messages its already on the way.
We again beg google for a GOOGLE LONG TERM PARTNER or such gif on our site and for sites who have
been in good standing with google AND ITS OWN CLIENTS, for years.
now this would be a patch we would proudly wear and all good standing long term google adwords users
would welcome with open arms. only long term google good standing accounts could receive it.
what do you think?
In the report, I'll include a link to this entire thread, so that the Google Advertising Professionals folks will be one click away from seeing all of your comments in the context of the thread.
This is a pretty good chance to express your concerns and have your feedback heard (whether positive or not so positive) - so have at it!
