No impression in 30 days = DISABLE

bad news for seasonal keywords

I have several thousand keywords.. and most of them are seasonal.. some get an impression once every 2-3 months.

I noticed a decline in my clicks and contacted adwords support saying many of my keywords were not showing up.

After researching for 2 days, I got a response.. that those keywords did not get an impression in last 30 days, so they were "disabled". Its a new feature and therefore still showing as moderate, but will soon start showing as disabled.

It may be the best business decision for google to save database space, but I am disappointed.

I need some alternatives :(

Is it just those pages, or the whole site? If it's all of it, then we should pull the ads off anything seasonal or too new to rank.

Its just those KeyWords.. for example.. if my AdGroup has 2000 keywords and 800 of them have not received any impression in past 30 days, then they are not appearing.

But does it makes sense for not showing an ad at all for these search terms? It's not just mine.. those keywords don't show any ad at all.

I don't understand this. They can keep those pages in organic search (my competitor's pages for same keywords).. and are disabling my Adword Ads which are actually paying them money.

When is MSN expected to launch their PPC program?

I don't do AdWords, but if I had that happen I'd do a re-evaluation on keyword choices. According to what's doing with AdSense as far as I can see (and history way before AdSense), there are already signs of a healthy seasonal upswing. It always does start around this time of year; it's consistent over a few years even with smallish sites and minimal hosting stats, relying on only organic search.

Do your words pertain to the fall shopping and "interest" season, or some that are more toward spring?
