What's the reason some ads are displayed on AOL and some not.

Maybe Google decides it based on the title or description of the ad, or do the editors flag the ads when reviewing them? I couldn't figure it out.

<edit: now I know, they flag them>

Does Google have a slightly different TOS than AOL? That is, are there some ads that can show on google, but not on AOL because AOL won't allow ads such as that? (I am thinking perhaps ad*lt terms might fit into that category..)

CTR minimum to be distributed to their partners is higher than to be shown on Google itself.

Perhaps this is the reason your ads aren't showing on AOL?

This is an important topic and I am still looking for an answer. My firm works with 100 of client domains and I cannot come up with an adequate detemination as to why AOL will pull some Google AdWord results, and not others. I even have run examples of similar site content from different URLs (using geography as the distinguishing factor)- some show up on AOL and some do not. I can tell you what it is not: AOL is not using aggregate search volume as a factor, AOL is not using the ad itself as a qualifier, and AOL is not using the CPC rate as a factor. Then what is it? Maybe we can refer to the MSN - Overture equation for an answer. I am really eager to find this out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check their faq at this page: [adwords.google.com...]

They have a few ideas listed, in addition, if the ads are for 'hundreds of clients' etc, then Google will want this revenue much more than if it was only 1 or 2 ads.

Call them. Email them. If you are a big enough advertiser, they will not ignore you. It's a business, after all.
