Does it cost me if competitors click me?

Just starting out, not having an rich Uncle, we can only afford to pay so much for a Google Add. So our daylie max is very low.....If a competitor clicks several times, are we paying for each click? Or is it only once a day or for good?

We have looked all over to find an answer .. where can we find an answer?

If they click on your ad multiple times, one after the other, it will count as just one click. If they click, then hit the back button & click again, it may count as another click that you pay for.

If they click & close their browser, or do another search & click your ad again, it will count as a new click (ie. you'll pay for both clicks).

Click fraud is a pain, but you do have to factor it into your PPC costs.

Google has very good tracking tools. Only one click is registered per day. However sometimes bad clicks can get through. Monitoring your site logs will help.

Do you know for a fact that only one click is counted per day? I often see 2 clicks on 1 impression given very targeted subject material.

There is definitely some filtering going on but there are usually more clicks charged than unique IPs recorded each day.

I've seen many instances of multiple clicks in the same day being counted. Of course, this was over a year ago when I was monitoring closer. I complained to Google and all they told me was that they do not charge for these clicks. When I told them that my logs didn't match their stats, they said again, that they do not charge for fraudulent clicks. In other words, they wouldn't review it and would probably be happy to go in circles all day about it. I just gave up and live with these fraudulent clicks. Like roitracker said, you have to factor it into your expenses.

Started a thread at [webmasterworld.com...] to discuss bringing some consistency to their stats Vs your logs.

PPC fraud is a factor as pointed out above but it should be fairly easy to root out without overwhelming Google with spurious claims for refunds
