I wonder how many webmasters would really use gmail though - surely email that goes to a public service like gmail isn't going to look as professional as email@mysite.
It's an opt-in on AdWords signup to receive invitations to participate in "Google Market Research". It can be turned off in the control panel as well.
Google mentions both of these points in addition to an unsubscribe link in the e-mail invitation. ;)
Heh, wonder how many folks will sign up for AdWords hoping for a GMail invite...
P.S. I have been reading this forum for quite a while now (first post though) and want to thank everyone for all of the valuable information. This is one of the best resources on the web.
Then again maybe I deleted the email by mistake :-(
Anyone have an invite they could send me?

Too bad we can't download into Outlook Express.
Eeeeeek!
But seriously, the 'thread' format of gmail (which appears to me as one of its strengths) does not lend itself well to any other mail client I've used (but I guess we are now straying into the specific gmail forum's territory).
Hey AWA - was this a result of my post in the supporters' forum a while ago suggesting this? (braggin' rights if it was :) ).
I'm not really a Gmail insider, wheel, so I can't say for sure. But I'd guess that a roll-out to advertisers has long been part of the plan. ;)
However, since you suggested the idea in a public forum, I'd go ahead and brag anyway!
Hey, my biggest account spends 4 digits a day, and I didn't get one!
Secret Tip: Now that the roll-out to advertisers has started, I'd write from within my account requesting an invitation.
