I hope they use the same principle here too. Only way to find out is to contact Google AdWords customer service.
Thank you for informing us that your recently updated ads are not running.
We apologise for this inconvenience. We are currently experiencing a
server delay. Our engineers are aware of the situation and are working diligently to find a solution. We expect the problem to be resolved within the next 24 hours. Thank you for your patience.
I received this response at 20:30 GMT on 4th October.
Shady, that response sounds very familiar to one I received 9/13/2002... as follows:
"This may have been caused by a server delay which caused you to see
abnormal or erroneous data in your account's reports. This situation is temporary. Our engineers have been notified, and are working to resolve this problem as quickly as possible."
My problem at the time (which continues) is that I often find instances where my click thrus exceed the number of impressions. They acknowledged the problem, but haven't followed up with me on it yet.
I'm starting to wonder if this server delay excuse is real or just a convenient one for them. Perhaps an explanation of what a server delay is would be helpful - as I'm not familiar with that phenomenon.

The engineers said that all changes will go through by this time tomorrow. If you want to force changes to go through earlier, click on "edit campaign" and then just save the campaign--you don't even need to make any changes. That should force a reload of any changes within the next few (3-4) hours.
I believe this issue only affects advertisers who are making changes to their campaign. We want campaign changes to be instantaneous, and I know a few engineers will be working this weekend to make sure that we get back to that point as quickly as we can. Let me know if you have any other questions. If anything changes, I'll post more info to keep folks up-to-date.
