Now, my niche is only a small portion of "walmart" sells.
Here is the problem. I am getting a ton of impressions
5000 in 6 days but my CTR is only 1.4% and so they disabled it.
Is there anything I can do to keep it enabled?
I tried adding -keywords and even changed the keyword to a phrase. But then I didn't get hardly any hits.
When someone searches for the website address they type in this one name. That is why I want to use it.
thanks for any advice

Cgchris99, here is a quick list, mostly copied from another post (plagiarized myself, so it is ok.) ;)
* Make sure you have deleted the keyword every place it occurs in your entire account
* Start a new Ad Group for that keyword alone
* Shop in the first couple of hundred search results for additional negative keywords
* Make sure that the ad is well connected to the keyword in some way
* Make sure you have written a really excellent ad
IMO, though, you may be fighting a pretty tough battle here - which even if you 'win' is likely to deliver only moderate results.
I hope that you'll also explore the option of using targeted Ad Groups that focus on advertising the actual products that you have to offer, rather trying to capture attention directed to a famous competitor that sells the same thing - amongst thousands of other products.
Advertising what you actually offer in a very targeted way is usually a key to success in my experience.

I have the same problem with keywords being disabled (these keywords are not specific related to a store though). I did what you suggested:
1. Removed all instance of the keyword (Did a search to double check)
2. Created a new ad group and added in keywords. One of them get about 247 impressions before being disabled and the other one got 0 impressions before being disable.
What can I do about this? The ad group had a totally new ad that was more targeted and the keyword had been up for a few weeks before without problems.
Say if my keyword is [blue widgets]. Do I have to remove all keywords that contain blue and/or widgets in them or just the [blue widgets] keyword that was disabled (and all other exact duplicates?
Thanks for any replies
I thought by generating traffic, it would offset the loss, but that's not the case.
I plan on putting many more specific ads and removing all the general term ones.

I would expect to see this happen if the keywords had not been deleted in every single place in which they had occurred before - even in paused or deleted campaigns or Ad Groups.

It is really difficult to say, with the limited amount of info available here. You might consider contacting AdWords support and asking for specific advice.
However, if you are using broad or phrase matched keywords, it'll really help to look in the first couple of hundred search results for possible negative keywords.

You need to delete all 'exact duplicates' of the disabled one.
However, If there are other disabled keywords, it's a good idea to delete those as well - as a matter of housekeeping. IMO, if a keyword is disabled, then delete it as soon as you notice it, even if you don't intend to use it again right then. This'll make things much easier if, in the future, you decide to use the word again. You won't have to hunt it down.
