I'm lucky enough to be the only one bidding on a specific keyword. BUT I'm only gettig around 2-3% clickthrough because my ad is always on the right hand side. How can I have it at the very top position on Google?
Cheers

It seems to be totally random. Some adverts for certain keywords will go to the top position and for some keywords there won't be a premium position at all.
It's at google's discretion and there doesn't seem to be much you can do about it sorry

I believe I read here recently that there may be some CTR factor involved. If your click through rate is high enough you'll sometimes get the premium position. I don't believe I saw proof, but it makes sense with Google's attitude. Get your CTR up (you can do better than 2% if you're the only ad) and see if that does it.

I think the other responses are right. 2% is not good enough for the G-spot. Also the ad must have been approved, which can take some days, and I have a feeling there might be a rule related to how long the ad has been showing. It generally sems to take some days/weeks for any ad to migrate to the top.

I was just about to post on this exact topic. I have been researching it, and believe its a combination of CTR and time the ad has been running.
Does anyone have a confirmation of this?
I tried asking adwords-support, but didn't get a real answer.
