Current AW Tips?

I read through the forum and haven't really picked up too much.

A l-o-n-g time ago there was a tip about maxing your daily budget but setting your max CPC low- or opposite to get a good effect. :)

I ran an AW campaign for the first time in a long time last week.

I did decide to use content providers and I'm not sure how that effected me. A high % of all my clicks were from one domain. Appx 25% total clicks out of 3000+.

Now, I guess that is OK, but am I correct in that all those clicks did not count toward my CTR?

I tweaked my advertising to match the highest CTR phrases...and when I used Webtrends the highest phrase was different compared to Google's stats due to me using the content provider.

It's a new site and therefore not in any SE yet.

I got good data and made some tweaks for the next campaign.

I'm wondering if I should not use Content Providers this time to get a more accurate running. It's a bit of a hassle to download logs and run a new report in Webtrends often. I'd prefer to rely on the data off Google.

Also, there is really no way to program a certain time in when you want the most exposure? During the day I wouldn't care much if I was in a lower position all the time.

However, I'd like to be highly visible Friday/Sat say 8PM-4AM EST and Sunday evenings from about 8PM-2AM EST.

It would be cool if AdWords auto adjusted everything to make one's ads be seen the most during certain time frames.

You folks have smart people and it shouldn't be too tough to make that happen. ;)

TIA

Robino,

It made me think a bit.

However, I have a limited budget and am specifically looking for lonely guys on the weekends with some disposable income. <hint> ;)

I also wouldn't want to run all the time as it would pretty much hose my monthly bandwidth.

I'm trying to jumpstart a site that does have good site stickiness.

As the project starts to make an income I'd probably advertise differently.

There was no mention about using content providers or not. I suppose I just won't use content providers next time and get a 'pure google' measurement.

Thanks.
