Hi All
Now i read about all the money people spend on pr1 positions. I have an adwords campaign with a daily budget of about £7.50 and at times am at the number 1 position, but most of the time in a pr1 position (right side)

Am i being nieve? am i really only paying £7.50 a day?
for this great position which generates great covertions? or is there a catch somewhere?

i am new to addwords, this is my first month

Not interested in competition, just an answer to my question, which was is there more than meets the eye to the fact i pay £7.50 a day for top ranking with adwords?

Thanks

You can have a top ranking, pay £7.50 a day and make money. I have made money paying out £10 a day on AdWords - you just need to pick your product area carefully.

It looks like you have done this. As long as you have a positive ROI there is no need to worry.

You have done very well picking keywords that are not that competitive but that convert well for you. good job. But don't expect it to always work this way. Someone else may start competing for those keywords, driving your price up or your ranking down.

thanks guys
I am in a field where i do have some competition, however it is a specialist field and i guess as you say im lucky with the right keywords, but saying that out of all the keywords i have about 80% of my budget is clicked away by the one keyword.

I read posts that talk of bog money to get to the top but i guess thats in a field where there is major competition like mobile phone for instance?

again thanks for putting my mind at rest

This is very dependent on both the industry and how the competition runs their accounts.

There are campaigns that have premium positions paying very little per KW, and others that pay several dollars per click.

Often those paying $$ per click have the budgets to keep paying and may be a little looser in occasionally posting a KW, and these KWs more often show up in articles so they are more publically known.

Those who pay very little per click for the top spots are more tight lipped about their KWs as they don't want additional competition to ruin their good runs, so you don't hear about these nearly as much.

This gives the impression that premium spots are very expensive, when it's not necessarily true for all KWs.

Well thats good news, I just thought for the convertions i am getting (due to pr) there had to be a catch for the small daily budget?

Luckly it seems i have choosen good keywords and have little competition in my field (as such)

like the posting said earlier i will enjoy it while it lasts
