Keywords at risk with 14.2%?

Why would I get an at risk message with ctr that high?

I have a keyword that got the alarm box and was labeled at risk yesterday when the ctr yesterday was 14.2% Over the life of the campaign it averages 5.1%

I don't know what could have triggered the warning - and I don't want to change the keyword or delete it since it does so well. But I am afraid if I ignore the warning Google will kill it all together.

I am not sure what to do, does anyone have advice?

I've had keywords disabled after being labeled at risk with high CTR's.

No explanation.

Keyword status is based on search at Gs site only. So you can have a 15% AOL CTR, and 0.3% G CTR, the word be labeled at risk or disabled.

It also seems to be based on the last 1000 impressions, which it does not seem possible to get figures from Google on the last 1000.

So, you could have 14% yesterday, 0.1% for many days before that and high CTR before that. Overall and yesterday's figures would look good, but you last 1000 may be as low as 0.6% in that case.

It's helpful to know that Google only counts their own clickthroughs, but surely that only hinders the advertiser? They may have started their adwords to target AOL users, for example.

It also seems to be based on the last 1000 impressions, which it does not seem possible to get figures from Google on the last 1000.

The most recent 1000 impressions are a bit more heavily weighted, but the entire CTR history is considered. For this reason, a 'really bad day' won't result in a disabled keyword, unless the entire history is borderline.
