How do you use the Google Suggestion Tool?

I am wondering how everyone uses the Google Sandbox tool to build their keyword list.

Do you use spreadsheets and copy/paste results from the search tool? Do you just brainstorm on your own and go by "feel"?

Any thoughts are useful for me.

A combination of the above depending on the objective for that day.

My favorite part of the sandbox is defining negative keywords. Even for phrase & exact matches, I'll use the sandbox to negative out all the broad match and related terms so I cover most of the bases before the KW goes live so it's easier to change match types and find more negative KWs later on from other sources.

The above statement is the chief reason I use the sandbox. Be sure to enter your keywords again w/ your newly found negatives though. I repeat that process probably 3-4 times until I no longer receive untargetted kw's.

The other two tasks the sandbox excels at are:

- finding misspellings
- finding synonyms

That is a great idea. But I'm new at this, I guess what I'm asking is HOW do you use the sandbox to negative out all the braod match that you dont want? Like do you copy them into an excel, sort, and delete? Or do you just eye it?

Enter the keywords again? What do you mean?

Enter the keywords again? What do you mean?

Say you enter "widget" into the box and get back the following:

widgets
buy widgets
blue widgets

You don't want people looking for blue widgets so you enter "widget" and "-blue" into the sandbox on seperate lines. Your second time around you won't get any keywords relating to blue, but you might get kw's you didn't get the first time around. Such as:

widgets
buy widget
green widget

For high traffic kw's, you can repeat this process a number of times. Each time adding your newly found negative kw's.

Exactly what your_store said, but I also look at the expanded broad match and related listing on the Sandbox page for where your listings will occur.

I just keep adding KWs & negative KWs to the sandbox until the results page only shows terms I want to be found for that are closely enough related that I can run the same ads for all of them. Then I copy and paste this directly into my adgroup KWS.

I also save a copy on the computer as well in case something happens to the account.

but what about the NEGATIVE keywords?

How do you make sure you have all of those? or are you running phrase/exact match?

but what about the NEGATIVE keywords?

Well you keep adding the negatives to your list each time you follow the process from above. So everytime you are entering your main kw plus all the negative kw's you've found. When you can't find any more you copy and paste the entire list to your ad group (or campaign now I guess).
