Not sure if this was talked about before. I have never received one of these before. It came in the form of an email offering a URL. The URL nicely presented Google's ideas for keyword changes, ad changes, etc.

I was very skeptical at first, but the suggestions seemed pretty solid.

Anyone else get these?

I just received hundreds of new adwords suggestions per my request from google.
What kinds of results have you gotten from Google's suggestions?

Heh, I just realized that I never got back to all y'all in that earlier thread quoted in post #3. :(

So here is a bit more detail.

This is a relatively new service. And, as with so many things, it is starting small and hopefully growing in depth and breadth in the future.

No and I wonder why not....

Some of these Optimization Proposals are created proactively (when, for example, we spot a particular opportunity to improve performance), while others are created by advertiser request. In either case, the service is free.

Mods, if it isn't OK to say the following please edit. The intention is to inform, not to promote!

Advertisers may request an optimization by writing, using the 'Contact Us' link within the account. At present, we tend to work on an individual campaign, which can then serve as a 'How To' model for other campaigns. So if you request an optimization, be sure to specify the campaign that you'd like to have addressed.

And the more you can tell us about your objectives, well, the better chance we have of helping you meet them.

Turnaround time will vary with volume of requests. So I am sure I've just slowed down turnaround time by posting details in this excellent forum. ;)

I got an optimization after my account was slowed for poorly-performing keywords. It was enlightening, as I was a newbie, and it helped clarify how to really target Adwords ads.

However, the ad they wrote has been the worst-performing of any ad I've had on the system, and I'm giving it another week before I delete it.

I appreciate the help (and you probably will, too), but no one knows your own business like you do.

Likewise, this post was enlightening. I'll pass it on to the Optimizers as a nice glimpse into the other side of what they do.

I so agree with you on this point, intwo.

For this reason, I'd advise that you view the Optimization Proposal as an informed suggestion, but don't hesitate to make changes to it if the results don't meet your expectations.

CPC advertising is both an art and a science - and even the most informed suggestions may not play out in the real world. Even with our proposals, I advise monitoring, experimenting, adjusting, etc.

With all that said, thanks for giving that ad an extra week to improve! ;)
