I have a question that someone might have already come accross and have the answer for:
When you have a low CTR for your keywords, and you cannot improve the ad, obviously the "full delivery restore" button comes up. Now, if you hit that button 3 times Google will charge you $10. BUT: what happens if you improve your ad by the second time (eg before pressing it a third time): does the counter reset to zero (eg if after a while your performance drops again, will it give you 3 changes again?)
I know there is the possibility of improving without hitting the button, but if you have many campaigns, do the other campaigns not get penalized for this?
Thanks for any help
Cheers

You will be charged $5.
>>> does the counter reset to zero? will it give you 3 changes again?
Nope.
>>> do the other campaigns not get penalized for this?
Yes. Your entire account will be disabled temporarily
>>> BUT: what happens if you improve your ad by the second time?
This statement is somewhat surprising. You are supposed to optimize the keywords, ad copies etc when they take your account offline. What's the point in hitting RESTORE FULL DELIVERY button every time without making any changes?
OK, the reason why I said $10 is because I am in Australia (eg 10 AUD :-) )
The thing is, I have the feeling that if you improve ads you might get away with not hitting the button (eg google is showing them at a reduced rate, but the reduced rate is good so that they become above 0.5 CTR again)
As for the $5/$10, you would need to press it a lot when setting up a new campaign, how do you avoid this charge?

* Avoid using very general keywords (gizmos)
* Instead focus on using targeted keywords which describe your actual products or service in a rather specific way (ornate blue gizmos)
* Collect all related keywords in targeted Ad Groups
* Then create an ad that is highly targeted to the keywords in that Ad Group.
The idea is that someone searching for something specific, (which just happens to be exactly what you have) is a pre-qualified customer. If you put an ad in front of them that talks about exactly what they were looking for, there are quite likely to click.
If you do these things, then you should end up with a pretty darn good CTR. And never have to 'Restore full delivery' again.
Wow! Thanks for this great info. It is funny how you sometimes know things in the back of your head, but never really do them :) I will now :)
