Is Google Maps just limited to Nothern America (USA & Canada), the UK, and Japan...? Does anyone know when this will be expanded...?

Well, satellite coverage to some degree is already available for the entire world. As far as street maps, I don't think Google's made any announcements on timelines... I'm sure it's a lengthy process to obtain the data, normalize it for their system, synchronize it to satellite/aerial imagery, and test it.
