google and other searches take AGES!

15-20 secs to display search results!

Greetings all, would any of you brainy lot know why this could be? I dont use the google toolbar, whenever I start a search in google, everything freezes for around 15 secs. I've tried other searches, altavista takes almost as long but not quite. Ask.com takes a while too but google takes ages! Am I infected with some virus or spyware or something? HELP!

It seams very strange for you to have to wait so long for a query on any major se.

Are you refering to the time it actualy takes for the results page to stop loading. or the time that is displayed on your results page?

If you suspect spyware etc you should download one fo the many free spyware/adware removal tools. This will either correct the problem or eliminate the problem.

Cheers for replying Mack, This is the time it takes for the results to be displayed. As it searches, the little spinning icon freezes as does everything else unitl the results are displayed. Could you recommend any spyware /adware removal software? Pref freeware! THanks heaps
