Using the "~" on stopwords in Google

This is probably not the right board to post this question, but anyway.

How do I write a query in Google combining it's "~" (synonym) function and stopwords?

Take for example the following query:

alchemy -"Alchemy Mindworks" -"alchemy eye" -imr -gothic -hermeticism -acoustic -records -lab -software -games -hypnosis

I want to use the synonym function on all the stopwords above. Is this possible? I've tried putting a tilde before the "-" (i.e. ~-hypnosis) but cannot determine whether this actually works as it should.

Anyone know?

Thanks

Martin
