Google is still crashing the IE browser on many computers when Google is the startpage.
Someone suggested that it is Dilbert. I think that is correct, the problem seemed to start at the same time that Dilbert appeared.
Can someone please contact Google before we loose more searchers forever to other search engines ?
It's not only the start page factor, I've got www2 in bookmarks and it'll crash when I hit that also. It takes several tries to get to Google every time.
<added>Plus I think that if it really were a Google problem, they would have it fixed pretty soon: they're much more concerned than we are about "losing searchers to other SE" I guess...</added>
Giacomo, it's a Google problem, I've not had this anyplace else like this. It's crash-time just about half the time with the start page, all the time with the bookmarks link.

I do not have the toolbar installed on this computer.
Suggestions have been to update the browser, use a different search engine, use a different browser, etc.
I have switched to Netscape but my concern is that many users will find another way to function and may be lost permanently from Google's customer base. I depend on Google traffic.
It's a shame to watch Google implode. Does anyone have contact with Google ? Do they even know ?
im wondering if google's responsible for turning my clock to 2059 now ;) like i was saying in that other thread about PC probs.
Closer to reality...Im using IE6...cant remember and specific probs upon hitting google (its my home page).
Some have suggested switching to a Netscape Browser (I have), installing IE 6, using a different search engine, etc.
My concern is that we are loosing Google users every day the problem continues. These are our customers, many will never come back.
Can anyone reach Google ? It is said that you are never more that three contacts away from anyone you need to reach...
Starting tomorrow, if you visit Google and IE still crashes, please send email to help@google.com with:
- your IE browser version
- your operating system
- whether you have the toolbar installed and what version
We're pretty sure the toolbar isn't related to this, but it pays to be complete. We're hoping that this fix tonight will solve the issue, but if you have any problems we'd like to hear about them.
Best wishes,
