How do I force a new index?

I installed Google Desktop Search 12/15. It indexed fine the first time. I never looked to see if it was indexing incrementally.

Today I noticed that my Status shows the last index on 12/20/04. I use the PC daily. Is there a way to manually force a new index?

Update:

Via Start> All Programs> Google Desktop Search > Uninstall I uninstalled GDS and then reinstalled it.

And although a cursory test search worked for a test MS Word doc on my hard drive When I check Status the last searh time is incorrect and the last email reads DEC 20th which is far from correct, and it doesn't fetch certain strings within emails received Jan 7th.
