where do I change data center information?

Hello,

I wonder is there a way to change data center address to which google goes to check site's positions.

I know there is a file where i can simply change the datacenter ip. Exmp: change 216.239.53.100 toolbarqueries.google.com to 216.239.37.100 toolbarqueries.google.com

Does anyone know where this file is stored?

This file is called hosts, and, in Windows XP, can be found in the folder: WINDOWS/system32/drivers/etc
