Just installed the latest google toolbar on laptop, version 2.0.112, no pagerank information available. Checked hosts file, no entry for toolbarqueries.google.com. Added an entry in the hosts file for toolbarqueries.google.com with an ip address (that's working on the ancient laptop). No pagerank information available.

Uninstalled 2.0.112, installed 2.0.012, no pagerank information available. Added toolbarqueries.google.com hosts entry, no pageank information available. Just finished trying 2.0.110 as well, no luck. Just finished trying avant browser with Google toolbar 2.0.110, no luck. Add slim browser to the casualties of the toolbar's bad functionality.

All the while, I have an ancient laptop with toolbar version 1.1.58 sitting beside me happily showing pagerank on every page.

Pinging toolbarqueries.google.com gives the same result from both laptops, resolving to 216.239.39.104.

I will literally pay for advice on how to fix this! Or if somebody has an older version of the toolbar installer, that would be worth a try as well.

Realized Internet Connection Firewall was on, disabled... rebooted, still no luck. Uninstalled toolbar, deteted internet explorer cache, deleted cookies, deleted leftover googletoolbar.dll file in c:/windows, rebooted, installed toolbar version 1.1.58................ NO LUCK!

So what have I learned...
decreased internet security and privacy settings to absolute lowest in Internet Explorer.

And it WORKED! Now I increased both security and privacy settings back to normal, and it still works! If only Google was smart enough to put this information on their toolbar help page, so that thousands of others wouldn't get stumped like me!
