While browsing Google today, a blue colored genie popped-up from my Google toolbar - this is the first time I noticed it.

Anyone has any idea what is this, is this a Trojan OR some new interactive search service from Google? I haven’t heard about it anywhere.

thank,
Shabir

What were your 3 wishes?

Back on topic - It sounds like the MS Office help thing that most people disable as soon as they figure out how to do so.

best way is to remove "office" and go opensource

Sounds like MS Agent... You can write web pages which pop up MS Agent and have it speak pre-programmed text as well.

Yahoo is testing a new BETA of the toolbar with an Anti-Spyware component. [beta.toolbar.yahoo.com...] Try scanning for 'blue genies', adware and spyware. ;) It's working well for me.

I wonder if Google & MSN will follow with an anti-spyware feature in their toolbar. Obviously it would not remove any tracks of searches from their own toolbars ;)

They seem to copy each other... so I would expect Google or MSN to follow. Funny Yahoo is leading with this Anti-spyware functionality now - unexpected but good to see.

Erase search tracks? What do you mean?
