hello. i've been using the google toolbar since its beta days and find it impossible to live without its funcionality yet can't stand having to use the yahoo! companion basically because it offers "bookmarks" separate from ie's "favourites". and now that i've started using slimbrowser, bookmarks in the google toolbar are of utmost importance, since the browser and the yahoo! bar are rather incompatible. is there an option allowing bookmark inclusion as in the yahoo! bar? if not, are there any alternatives? thank you.

To make bookmarks interexchangable between several pc's you at least need to identify who you are.

So probably the toolbar cannot have this function since google doesn't have user account management at the moment (gmail is still in beta).

Why it works in yahoo is because yahoo will ask you to sign into your yahoo account. Else the bookmark function is not working.

hello mars9820 and thank you indeed for your reply. it couldn't have been simpler! i do like the "bookmarks" aside from the links in the favourites folder since the former allow two-click access to the most visited sites without having to access a folder first. i can see the google toolbar not only incorporating this as google develops as an email provider and more. you may be interested in serious discussion on the subject all over the net. i have already set up a gmail account but find it still extremely limiting as it's only web-based and it doesn't accept code nor embedded images and the like. certainly google will have to develop a client like bloomba which has been offering search-based email for a bit now.

cheers!
