Hello!

I have a web site and I am focusing on the PR of a directory on this site (say www.example.com/directory/).

A few people link to this directory not using the slash at the end (www.example.com/directory).

From a visitor's point of view, there is no problem because my server automatically redirects to www.example.com/directory/.

But from a SE point of view, I have the following problem.

When I do a "site:www.example.com" in Google, it returns me 2 entries for my directory (one with the slash - correct - and one without the slash - completly empty of course).

That directory used to have a PR4 and is now a PR0 ; though nothing has changed.

I just visited a site that offers to check the PR without the Google toolbar and I find out (according to this site anyway) that my PR4 is still there but is given to : www.example/directory - without the slash.

What can I do because the real directory now has a PR0 (which is not good)?

Thanks for your help.

have you considered using a 301 direct through .htaccess

It should help pass that PR over i think...

Thanks for your reply.

My server automatically redirects (with a 301) from the address without a slash to the address with a slash.

So, I thought it was not necessary to do that.

Perhaps I should wait for the next update to see if I still have this problem?

By the way, I notice that :

[webmasterworld.com...] has a PR6
[webmasterworld.com...] has a PR2
