DNS Problem Caused by Google Pop-up Blocker?

I am experiencing a strange problem that I believe is related to the goggle pop-up blocker, and was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

About 4 months ago, I started having DNS problems where IE would bring up pages from sites I had previoulsy visited, not from the address I put in. Also, banners from other sites would appear mixed with the site I was visiting, and sometimes I couldn't reach the site I was aiming for at all. No matter how many times I would type an address in, it would take me to a site I had visited previously. I also get page not found errors.

I formated my system(for this, amoung other things) and the problem went away. Recently, it has started occuring again. The reason I believe it is the pop-up blocker, is that both times, the problems started occuring when over 700 popups were blocked. I have played around with turning this feature off, and the problem goes away.

Some other background, I am running win2k, I am on a small office network, and the problem never occurs with other computers(they do not have the google toolbar). Also, I have tried flushing the local DNS cache and turning DNS caching off completly and having no change. I have also tried several DNS servers. So, anyone else experience this, or am I nuts?

hmmm...I think I may have similar problems with getting a Page Not Found/DNS error when trying to visit a URL.

It happens intermittently, so I haven't been able to narrow it down. But it did start after I installed the google toolbar (and the number of popups I've blocked is over 700).

weird...

Do you get problems with banners from other websites appearing mixed in with the website you are on?(this doesn't happen often, but usually precedes the next problem)

Do you get a completly different webpage from the one you are aiming for?

I should also mention, it does not happen all the time. Some days I can go without it occuring, but on days with heavy webuse, I notice it more.

It's reasuring to hear that someone else may be having this problem. Maybe I'm not going nuts.

Or maybe I am . . .

I don't get either of those other 2 symptoms, but I am still getting the DNS error every now and then when I either type in a site or go to a link.

If I wait a few seconds/few minutes, I can reload the page and it works fine.
