I'm new to this so please bare with me.

I use Pogo.com on a regular basis, I'm in a dominoes league, or used to be until I downloaded Google tool bar and a popup blocker (can't recall the name).

I'm not sure which caused it but when I would sign on to Pogo.com the ads would not show up which in turn stopped the game from logging on. I turned of the popup blocker on google and deleted the other software. I found truning the it off didn't work so I deleted the google tool bar. There must be a trace of it somewhere because it is still blocking the ads. I use WinXP, Pogo says it's a setting that got changed to allow the popups.... does anyone have an answer to this problem? I really need some help here!

Thanks in advance,

Michelle

On the google toolbar there is an option to allow pop ups. I think it is in the setting section. You can get to this by selecting the settings option from the toolbar.

If you have removed the google toolbar there is no way it can still be blocking pop ups. I would say it has to be the other pop up blocker that you downloaded.

Did you actualy remove the google bar or just hide it from your browser. If you just hid it them it will still be working. One way to find out is to right click on the top of your browser and see if it still displays the word "google" as a toolbar option.

There are 2 ways to remove the toolbar. One is through the toolbar uninstall option from within the toolbar, the other is from the add/remove software section from within windows.

To be more helpfull it would be good if you could remember the name of the other software you installed.

Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly.... Yes, I uninstalled google completely. I have no idea what the other popup blocker was, it was a freebie off of Tucows.com. There is no trace of google toolbar on my computer that I can find. Maybe this will help, Here is what I get when I go to Pogo.com:

I'd recommend going to microsoft.com and downloading the browser and reinstalling it, or upgrading. This might take care of the problem.

If not, you could try installing Netscape or Opera.

Good Luck.

I'm not sure I know what you mean by down loading the browser.... I keep WinXP updated on the downloads. What would Netscape or Pearl? (was it) have to do with it?
