Whats your question? Are you asking if the toolbar is bad or PR?

Silverbytes seems to be asking whether it makes a difference if you look at the Toolbar ranking for your main or index page vs. a splash page. In other words, does the Toolbar calculate differently depending on the page? I think the answer is yes -- I usually see a PR drop off of at least 1/10 for non-index pages.

PR is calculated per page. The splash if that is the index page will have more PR if everyone is linking to mysite.com. The next page will have only PR from the splash and the other internal pages. The problem with splash pages is you don't give them PR internally becuase usually you don't link to them from within the site. They basically just hurt your overall PR.

If you are asking if it is bad to use the PR on the toolbar, then the answer is we really don't know. Google does recieve the info from the toolbar when advance features are turned on. What they do with that info we really don't know.
