Freaky Coincidence or Magic Toolbar?

Toolbar entry puts URl in index?

Ok, I know it's the 13th, and wierd things are supposed to happen. About a week ago I was not indexed anywhere. I installed the toolbar, typed in my URL and the next day found I had top ten rankings for most of my keywords, as well as several #1's for google and the engines that use google. Two days ago I disappeared completely from everywhere. Just about 15 minutes ago I ran my URL through the toolbar again, checked back in the search engine directories, and there I am again back on top. However, none of them say they have my URL. What's up with that? Coincidence or is my toolbar the secret gate to Google? Surely just entering your URL can't give you top ten everywhere for a few days!

Welcome, jpell. Maybe you should put a pay-for-inclusion Google submittal form on your site. For a fee, you will agree to use your magic toolbar on each submitted URL. :)

Google has in the past said they don't use the toolbar to find URLs, although they have not ruled out that possibility in the future. However, a search is a different matter, though I'd be surprised if your searches had any effect on your indexing or lack thereof.

Nope, just kidding.. :)

Is this similar to the golden ticket from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory [www2.warnerbros.com]?

Find one and get a tour of the GooglePlex..

Thanx for the responses, it was just a fluke. I'm still on top so I'm happy!
