how comes that site shows PR 5 and don't show any external link?
how comes that of two of mine pages (similar in content)related to a keyword - one with about 2% keyword dentisty and white PR bar comes out 4 places infront of one with 9% keyword dentisty and grey (it's quite new in index)PR bar.
Any ideas - specially the first Q - I'm newbie into SEO waters, but do I really need to forget everything I thought I know as not relevant?!

Take a look from AllTheWeb > suspect backlinks are loads of PR1, PR2, and PR3 pages none of which will show in Google.

Suspect off page stuff e.g. internal/external links with more precise anchor text as referenced by the search query, search terms in proximity of link, in title etc. All off-page/off-site stuff plays as much (and sometimes more) a role to inducing better ranks than "on- page" content.
Also this last update was not a complete update therefore some or all of the "off-page" stuff for the higher keyword density page may be missing.
