Any body got a clue?
I ran my virus checker and have looked for odd files but the plug in was all I could find....

I email google toolbar support and it seems the google toolbar helper is a plug in that is supposed to stablize the toolbar...
When the "upgrade" finally got installed on my computer it made my browser so unstable it kept showing an error and had to close....
I have uninstalled the tb and will report back about the browser stabilitiy issue...for anyone who may be interested....
I hope this solves it.

Maybe this has anything to do with the changes?
BTW, I have 1.1.66 installed (I went to their site and installed over whatever version I had before so I could get the News button). It seems to working fine for me. (Win2k, IE 6.0.2800.1106
My IE6+ would not settle down and it kept messing up so much I finally had to uninstall the new google bar. After that it works like a charm, no more problems....I think they tweaked it once too often!
Besides, I hate the sound of toobar helper, sounds too much like the other advertising scumware on the web and with the advent of catalogs and froogle it may very well be a future adserver.

Thanks, but no thanks!
Whatever got me also screwed up Norton anti virus...the diffinitions will not even initialize. Boot disks don't help and restore refuses to restore anything!
It goes through the motions but tells me nothing is changed but I see plenty of changes! Oh well, Something came in with the update of google bar, or at the same time it was updating as that was the first time googlebar disappeared.
I will not ever download something from the web again...if I can't buy it on a disk Then I don't want it.
Wish me luck guys......
