From a good SEO point of view, what is the optimum internal linking strategy
I've always designed my sites internal linking with the user, and not the engine, in mind for basics, though I will take into account what keywords I'd like the internal pages to rank for when assigning internal anchor. But again, the first thought I have when designing internal navigation is usability. That said, my one standard is using absolute linking (as opposed to relative).
You have a site to be indexed with the keywords guitar picks.
You can make inbound links with many choices but I prefer this one.
Guitar Picks Catalogue (Link Name)
guitar_picks_cat.htm (The Page Address) or vice versa.
The more you use the keywords within the links facts success will be closer to you...
