Most of the content on the home page I'm working with is images.. with very little text - the exception being a small text menu at the bottom of the page displaying the stuff that isn't really important to the main user ie. Employment, About Us, etc.

I'm noticing that in the Google results the description text under the link is first using the ALT tag on the logo, and then the text menu at the bottom of the page.

In addition to putting our company description in the ALT tag of the logo, where can I put text so that the textual menu on the bottom takes lower priority/ possibly wont even show up? Thanks!

Do you have a meta description tag that actually uses the keywords relevant for that page? If not then adding one might help a bit.

You have to live with the fact that text based searches actually search for text. So if you want to perform well in such searches you need to have some text.

Do you have alt tags for all images? Those alt tags should have short and precise texts with the relevant keywords in them.
