Where to submit to?

Hello,

I have submitted the site in question to ODP, to google,
to altavista, all for free. I also seem to be on the
inktomi and fast indices, though I never submitted there.

I have submitted the site to yahoo (express submit), this almost tripled the requests per day.

Where else should I submit to?- Lycos seems weak, compared
to yahoo, looksmart is romoured to be yet again
restructuring. Go is 'clinically dead', GoTo seems to have recurring costs, which I don't want at the moment.

Ideas?

Hi Skirril,
A few other engines you may want to submit to are: northern light, excite, and direct hit (free add URL form).
Also, I suggest looking into NBCi (you have to become an editor first) and About.
That's all I can think of for now.

It's also worth a bit of time doing searches for specialized SEs and directories. I start by searching under "mykeyword directory" or "mykeyword search engine".

If you come up with a well-targeted resource, it may mean some quality traffic.

Also skirril, what appears to be weak may just generate one hit by a serious searcher that turns into a sale.

Don't neglect to submit to FAST also - definitely one to watch: [alltheweb.com...] I do FAST and Lycos both, without fail - had a good, quick result turn up quickly in January too. Check through this forum:

Wow this was find of the week to me. With my lack of fantasy always searched for "keyword1" "keyword2" so overlooked few relevant NEW places to promote/exchange links with. Thanks tedster for tip!
