Repeating Key words in Meta Tags

Is it good to repeat Key words in Meta Tags

I have read several reports about repeating keywords in the meta tag content, however they have a differing of opinion.

Some say it is a must have with no more than 3 repetitions. Others say no less than 5 repetitions and still other reports say not to repeat any words.

Please let me know your advice, experiences, etc.
Is it better to repeat words, rather then have new words?

My philosophy is that meta's count for so little these days, why risk it?

Is 3 repeats okay in each meta tag, or is 3 the max overall? TIA.
