Truth of the matter is, any good search engine will find your site without necessitating a submittal, as they all crawl links these days. So make sure your site is well linked, from DMOZ & Yahoo, and other sites that are "well connected" and every major search engine on the planet will find you.

Thanks for this info, but I checked on yahoo.com and it cost alot, I will do the DMOZ.org.

And other ways to speed up the process?
