Does anyone here have experience with payed membership at SearchEngineWatch? Are the extra benefits worthwhile?

Thank you in advance.

Another question for your question:

Have you noticed that there is a subscription option to WebmasterWorld now? :)

My personal opinion is that anything from Danny Sullivan and/or Chris Sherman are well worth the small yearly subscription fee. Same goes for the WebmasterWorld Supporters Forum.

Search Engine Watch has been a long standing reputable resource for our industry. Danny Sullivan has been entrenched in this industry for years and shares information which all of us can benefit from.

pageoneresults, does that mean you subscribe 'over there'? Just curious, I've yet to shell out the $$$ for any web based subscription that was information related. :)

However, I do know that there are many reputable high quality publications & information services that anybody should consider, if they are willing to pay & are interested:

WebmasterWorld
SearchEngineWatch
Planet Ocean

Um, I think those are the only 3...each has it's pros / cons, and both Planet Ocean & SearchEngineWatch have been providing subscription information related to search engines for years. I know people that subscribe to both.

I use Planet Ocean, Its a good investment and their tests and trials are well worth reading.

There is no padding and no pop ups!

Yup. I have paid subscriptions for a few industry resources. I've found that most of what I read in the paid subscriptions can be found here at WebmasterWorld if you have the time to dig through all the information. It's nice to receive everything in one condensed version.

I also find things in those paid subscriptions that may not be discussed in public forums. You know, those little tidbits that very few pay attention to but are worth their weight in diamonds!

Beg your pardon?

There has been one post that said 'glowing comments' on PO, the rest (myself included) mentioned several publications. :)

Fact is, I have little time outside of this place, and I find SearchEngineWatch interesting, but simply don't have the need for more info - I have plenty here that I've yet to implement.

Though if you are looking for a tax write off - I would say do all three. Why not? They are legitimate business expenses.

When the economy picks up, especially the tech economy, I suspect Webmaster World will gain a large number of subscribers.

Hehehe, I know we'll never have access to the total number of subscribers, but I think it has already gained the large number of subscribers that you mention above. ;)
