Since 4 month I'm trying to get my site recognized from any of the major searchengines (I have not tried the smaller ones).
Neither the URL nor my name or a keyword have been indexed so far (I have regular submitted to AltaVista and Lycos and read carefully Bretts pages).
My site is using frames and most people tell me frames are poison for spiders. But a full ignorance?
Please, one of you specialists out there, give me a hint how to make my site visible.
Thanks in Advance, Markus
Your heading section needs work. Metas as they are now will get you a great listing on a search for peakworks, but of course nobody searches on that. Do some research and select a key phrase that describes the general catagory your product falls into.
Your <title>, description, and keywords should all contain this new key phrase. That term should also appear near the top of the <body> section.
Eliminate the revisit-after meta or at least set it to a reasonable value, 30 days or similar.
Keep in mind the SE's are not a constant. As they change their algos and allainces, the easy and time delay getting indexed varies. Patience and persistence is required...
These suggestions should get you started... Good Luck!
BTW, how are searchengines determinig the language of a page if there is no meta tag for this in the header? Are they searching for specific phrases or words?
I will follow your guide and post my experiences in this forum. Maybe I can choose a smiling icon instead a question-mark then...
